To make this review as helpful as possible I will break up the important aspects to review and rate each one and average them for a final score.
Convenience of content: 5+
I love the ability to go to one place for a smorgasbord of prepping content.
Content: 4
The content covers a wide spectrum of levels, depth and paradigms. Its easy to let the article be a springboard for further investigation.
Price: 5
For the work they put into combing the web I have yet to find any magazine with this much content for this low of a price. Well worth three bucks a month.
Application Overall: 3.5
Its basic ability to sort between downloaded and to-be downloaded content is helpful. Id like to be able to further sort out what Ive read, maybe specially mark some with notes for reminders, etc.
Application Use: 3.5
Easy to read but when you leave theres no automatic bookmarking feature to take you to the same issue you were in. This can be a pain and appears to be solvable as other mag apps seem to have this.
Problems: Ive noted on articles with a lot of videos embedded you get varied results. On one issue (Issue 16: 50+ survival hacks) the first time I started to read it I didnt realize that there were videos embedded. There were just large spaces in between each sub article. The next time I try to go back to finish the article the whole program kept crashing. Every time I opened it I would see that it appeared to be trying to load those videos. I assume it was a loading issue. Food for thought for the developers.
In conclusion, I hope this review is helpful for the developers and potential end-users. I really like the idea and I think their implementation is overall quite good. I do recommend it.
